SAE International (formerly known as the Society of Automotive Engineers) is a global body of 128,000 scientists, engineers, and practitioners that advances self-propelled vehicle and system knowledge in a neutral forum for the benefit of society. SAE International is the leader in connecting and educating engineers while promoting, developing and advancing aerospace, commercial vehicle and automotive engineering. (http://www.sae.org/about/general/history/). Currently SAE has offices in the USA, Brazil, China, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, India and South Korea.
The SAE Central Ontario Section (SAE COS) represents engineers in the above mentioned industries within Central Ontario. The section, run by volunteers within the engineering industry, hosts plant tours, conferences and lectureships and student competitions in order to promote and develop engineering skills and mentorship amongst their membership. The section hosts a meeting once every month from September to June.
